On Thursday, March 5th, the Infrastructure Council held its first meeting of the year. We gathered in large numbers for our annual general meeting at the Saint-James Club.

On this occasion, the Members of the Council were able to look back on the very positive outcomes of the past year. Among these successes, 10 new Members joined the 40 Canadian experts on infrastructure that make up our membership. We were also present at events that were very beneficial for the Council, in Washington for CG/LA and in Toronto for CCPPP’s annual conference. A positive balance sheet will enable us to continue our activities with confidence for the coming year, even despite the current COVID-19 crisis. The year was also marked by the success of our famous 11th Grand Forum.

The event, which was sold out, brought together prestigious speakers from all over the world at the Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth. The annual general meeting also gave us the opportunity to look back on the 10 past year, during which our Grands Partenaires / Key Partners have been major actors in the development of major infrastructure projects. The highlight of this meeting was the conference given by the Honourable Marc Miller, Minister of Indigenous Services, who took the time to be with us in spite of the delicate situation surrounding the negotiations for the lifting of railroad blockades. He presented his strategy for the important investments that are planned for the development of new infrastructure in Indigenous reserves in Canada.

We thank our sponsors Arup and Canam Group for their valuable support in the organization and the success of this meeting.
